PATRICK DUMELIE
CEO

Patrick is a mission-driven leader, committed to transforming the health system through innovative approaches to supporting seniors in a caring community where they can thrive. The Covenant family has grown under Patrick’s leadership to play a vital role as a key partner in Alberta. Pursuing his passion for service and excellence and a bold vision for Alberta, Patrick is focused on working in partnership with patients, residents and their families and working collaboratively with Government, health partners and community to create communities of health and healing. His leadership is rooted in our mission of compassionate, quality care that attends to the whole person—body, mind and soul—and responds to those most vulnerable in society. He is immensely proud of the Covenant Care and Covenant Living team’s unwavering commitment to creating enriching places to live and work, respecting dignity and individual choice, encouraging a spirit of creativity and nurturing each person’s potential. Patrick has served in health care executive leadership roles in Saskatchewan and Alberta, and holds an MBA from Queens University and a bachelor of administration from the University of Regina.

Michelle Charlesworth
Acting President / Senior Operating Officer of Covenant Care and Covenant Living

Michelle focuses on building team capacity and fostering a just culture for continuous growth and learning.

Michelle brings a wealth of experience to her role, with over 24 years of professional nursing practice and administrative experience in acute and community care settings. Her diverse career has seen her work in rural and urban settings in Northwest Territories, Nunavut, and Alberta. Most notably, she has held leadership roles in Supportive Living and Long-Term Care, and was employed with Alberta Health Services before joining Covenant Care & Covenant Living in 2019. Her mission-driven leadership is underpinned by a passion for providing safe, reliable, quality care.

She holds a Master’s Degree in Health Studies from Athabasca University and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Alberta. She started her nursing career as a graduate of the Northern Nursing Program in Yellowknife with a nursing diploma.

With a commitment to service excellence, Michelle is part of the Accreditation Canada team as an Accreditation Canada Surveyor. As well as an elected board of directors with the Alberta Continuing Care Association and serves as one of the vice chairs advocating for quality service delivery in the Continuing Care sector.
